The Fantastic western tour with day hikes is a fun trip as we explore the nature trail and discover different floras and faunas which make you feel much connected to nature. This trip will take us around remote villages and let us mingle with locals which will make us experience the daily chores of the locals, with Bucketlist activities being completed.
Discover;-Thimphu, Paro, Punakha, Gangtey,Haa
- Hike to Tigernest and Hot-stone Bath in Paro, Mountain Biking in Thimphu, Hike to Lungchoktse in Dochula + Rafting and camping in Punakha.
As we fly to Bhutan we can get a spectacular views of the Himalayas .At the airport, we will be greeted by a representative. We will drive to Thimphu.In the afternoon, We will visit TashichoeeDzong(a fortress of Glorious Religion) . Then we will stroll down the main street. Overnight at the Hotel in Thimphu.
After breakfast, we will drive for about 15mins to the base of Tango Monastery. And then we will start our hike to Tango Monastery( a University for Buddhist studies).Along the foot path we can see many phases written on the rocks, trees by the monks of Tango monastery.
After lunch , we will visit Buddha point ( a gaint statue (169ft), sitting on the hill), traditional medicine centre, School of Arts and craft, Folk heritage museum, Takin Zoo. Overnight at the hotel in Thimphu.
After breakfast drive to Punakha, the old capital town of Bhutan. Stop enroute at Dochula pass (3,150m) where we can see the Himalayan Range, if the sky is clear. We will host the prayer flags for the sentiment being around the world.Then we further drive downhill through the Rhododendrons, coniferous and broad-leaved forest to Punakha.On reaching, we will visit Punakha Dzong, the second oldest fortress of 17th century. We will stop at Metshina Village and take a 20-minute walk through the rice fields to Chimi Lhakhang, a fertility temple dedicated to the Devine Madman or Lama Drukpa Kuenley. The barren couples will be blessed with child, if they visit the temple and pray from their heart. Overnight at the hotel in Punakha.
In the morning we will drive to Gangtey/Phobjikha, a winter home for Black-Necked crane who fly from Tibet to escape harsh winter.Onreaching Gangtey ,we will visit GangteyMonastery.After lunch we will hike down the Phobjikha valley with an amazing view and also we can spot cranes in the valley during the winter. Then we will visit a Farm house for a stay, meet a host and also experience their daily chores. Overnight at the farm house in Gangtey.
Today, we will leave for Haa (recently opened to Tourist)in the morning after breakfast.We will take a scenic drive via Thimphu. Overnight at the hotel at Haa.
After Breakfast we will hike Paranoma trail which give us scenic view of the Haa valley. After lunch we will stroll around the lonely street of Haa and meet with local. Then we drive through Pine and Rhododendrons forest to Paro Via Chele la Pass(3988m/13,165 ft- highest motor able road in Bhutan). We will have our Picnic lunch on the way to Paro. After lunch we will further drive to Paro. Overnight at the hotel in Paro.
After breakfast, we hike for 4 -5 hours to Taktsang (Tigers Nest) Monastery, which is Bhutan’s most famous monastery situated at 3,180 meters. In 8th century Guru Rinpoche (spiritual master) is said to have flown on the back of a tigress to meditate in a cave where Taktsang Monastery now stands. Lunch will be served in the Cafeteria Restaurant, located about halfway up the mountain. After having explored the monastery, we will stroll around the main street of Paro town and if you wish to, we can visit farm house for a typical Bhutanese dinner, a traditional hot-stone bath and play Traditional Archery.Overnight at the hotel in Paro.
Today after breakfast, we will drive to Paro Airport and our representative will bid you farewell at the Airport. If you have enough time before flight, probably you can discuss with your guide and visit some places around.
